Albanian National Center of Cinematography (ANCC) was established in 1997 and is the only cinematographic public grant-giving institution that finances, encourages, and promotes Alabania’s film production. Albania has a rich film history and storytelling in Albania is essential to its culture. The goal of ANCC is to foster and support Albanian cinema and actively promote and encourage Albanian filmmakers to do international co-productions to enhance the movie industry in Albania. The ANCC aims to continue the Albanian storytelling in the world through Albanian movies, talents, and movie professionals. ANCC has been part of more than 300 productions between 1996 and 2019. The decisions are made by the ANCC artistic and financial assessment board, composed of Albanian cinematographic association members. The fund increased its budget in 2015 by 70%, and approved 3x more projects between 2015-2018 than 1997-2014.
